October 20, 2008 The leader of Bulgaria's Nationalist ATAKA Party Volen Siderov and his wife Kapka were acquitted Monday in the dragging trial, brought against them over charges with incitement to perjury. "I am happy with the judges' decision as it showed Bulgaria's legislative system could be objective," Siderov said immediately after leaving the court room. "The ruling however cannot cover the moral damages caused to me and my wife in the trial's progress," he added. The defendants were accused of attempting to frame former party ally Pavel Chernev following an assault at Trakiya highway in April 2006.
